*clears throat* Ahem. This is my webpage. Of course, one might assume that, due to many factors, which will herein not be discussed in great detail. However, I feel obliged to comment that I use too many commas. One might call it, perhaps, an addiction, but not as drastic as one relating to drugs, or the like.
This webpage is rather wordy, I must confess, and I do apologize to those of you reading who don't really like to bother reading webpages, and would rather just sit back and look at pictures.
this domain
This domain is a subdomain of her-own-eyes.org, whose owner is a friend of mine, Kate, and gladly allowed me to be hosted by her. She likes pirates, by the way.
this layout
This layout is eleventh in number since the beginning of time. Well, since I started with this webpage...
Versions & Layouts
Version 1
This was done after I'd had the site on one page for the longest time; blue on blue with lime links.
Version 2
Version 2 was the first version after version 1. Obviously. The content switched frames from version 1, and the black vs. pink switched from background vs. text to text vs. background. The links on the left were just black. The links on the right were skyblue. And the text was all black. This version hosted the first appearance of the S@ND section.
Version 2 3/4
This version was my first SSI (side server include) attempt, which can, and would, explain the change to .SHTML extension. I used it mainly for CSS (cascading styles sheet), which later I found a better way of dealing with that. However, I did use it so I wouldn't have to update different pages for one set of links. Which can get annoying. Plus, it was tables, not frames, so it would be an exhaustive process for each new page added.
Version 3
This version was green. I like green on a webpage. It has so many shades, unlike fuchsia, that are easy to use using just words - darkgreen, lightgreen, green, lime - instead of having to go to find out what the hexidecimal code was. It was another tables version, with little tiny columns/rows in between the larger ones for dividers. I did like it. Also an SSI attempt.
Version 4 - a//choo====
Orange, gray, and white. What a great combination. The font style? A change from Tahoma or Verdana to Courier. Very nice. I liked it. The links were gray and underlined, but on hover changed to orange and no-underline. It had three columns, which reflected my blog. I didn't know what to put in the third column on the site, so I quickly changed it to a new layout [below].
Version 5 - bluebird
This version was blue. Dark blue. I named it "bluebird" for some random reason. I don't really know what it was. I used some "div" knowledge from making my mum's website [which isn't online as of yet] to make the links kind of float over there on the right. The content was in an iframe. Pretty simple, methinks.
Version 6 - True Fuchsia
This layout was meant to be an easy layout to update, and it would have been, if I'd updated at all while it was up. However, I did not. So, it was pink. The name was meant to be like "True Blue", except fuchsia. I have a feeling that was lost on a lot of people. It was originally meant to have an iframe filling up the entire bottom right hand, which would have been a large area. However, with my silly deletion of the page right before uploading, I had to make something different up, and I couldn't get it quite right, so I left it small. And I think I like it better that way.
Version 7 - Pink Fever
This version used graphics as backgrounds as opposed to my usual plain colours. There was kind of a wavy/pointy line going on in the frame parts, and on the front page, there was a spotlight type thing. The links where white, and turned fuchsia with white background on hover. I added a section with a lot of writing stuff, and re-organized a lot of things. I also left a lot of things out.
Version 8 - Nevermore *
I stole this version/layout from a previous blog layout. But, due to complaints while it was up there, I changed a lot of the "div" stuff from pixels to percents to make it easier to view with a smaller screen resolution. That took a lot of fiddling around, but eventually I got it to work.
version 9 - bluely
Found a background at flamingtext.com, and like it, so I based a layout on it. Used some div, css, and such stuff. Links went bold on hover. Yay!
version 10 - blank and gray
Got bored and wanted something new. So I made this, and used some picture/map skillz that I invented the day I made it. Links: black, hover links: red &bold. I'm a genius.
