spring break 2005 cambridge
i was reading a copy of jane magazine i found at besk & came across
we have no idea why joss stone is calling her third album introducing joss stone, but we're fascinated by the singer jumping on the pink-hair bandwagon
i didn't even know there WAS a pink-hair bandwagon. but it's too late now, because i've fallen off it.
tired of dealing with roots, i went for a "soft black" look.
this picture was taken [by gabe] before the second round of hair-dying that probably quadrupled my chances of cancer but also reduced the number of odd pink streaks remaining on my head.
in other news, SPRING BREAK 2005 [sic] CAMBRIDGE. i tidied up our room, cleared out our [disgusting] sink, and even finally got someone to replace our burnt out refrigerator light. i've been able to see what i'm eating for the first time in months and months.
spent a million hours this afternoon formatting & reformatting my resume, but at least i'm at besk, so i will be paid handsomely for it.
still to do: launder sheets & towels, actually e-mail people about summer research jobs, do financial aid & taxes stuff, COMPLETE A BUNCH OF WORK THAT IS DUE THE MONDAY, TUESDAY, & WEDNESDAY AFTER SPRING BREAK, and buy bus tickets to montreal?
and last night we watched that pinnacle of cinematic achievement, stick it. my life is too glamorous for you to comprehend.

when it rains, it pours
the week in recap.
last sunday i realized i had a shit load of work to do for the week. a presentation to give friday that had to be mostly done by wednesday. a paper due tuesday and a paper due thursday. a pset due on friday. and i had to get it done early because berry would be arriving on thursday.
oh, and it is also campusmoviefest and we signed up to make a movie. i-i...
i pretty much worked all day monday. then on tuesday, after meeting with my ta to go over my presentation and having him tell me i'm great, and after a kind visit with rian, i had to pick up marley, who, surprise!, is in town this week too. oh, and, meara is visiting this week too? so we all went out to eat ice cream and it was all ril very kind.
wednesday swept by with me & helene looking at slides of rat brains with a microscope from 1-5pm. oh, and two of lauren's friends are visiting now also.
i wrote my paper for my thursday night class all thursday morning, then rushed off to the airport to pick up berry. i was essentially done for the week, except for the three-hour class i had to sit through, 7-10pm, and the presentation i had to give the next morning at noon.
dropped berry off at teeny's, went to class, got berry again, went to a frat. drank irresponsibly.
next morning. oh, a snow storm, how kind. feelin a lilly bit sick in linguistics recitation. give presentation to three people [not counting the ta & lab manager] on GAP-43 in mice. then onto lunch with berry & the weekenddddddd.
you'd think i would have a pleasant, relaxing weekend after prolly the most stressful week of my life. but somehow i stay up until 5 am friday & saturday night. and i waste away sunday, mostly feeling exhausted.
but it is a new day today. i have two loads of laundry in the wash. i will take a shower soon. spring break starts next weekend. i don't think i have much work to do this week. feelin good.

so i've started watching america's next top model.
and i can't stop.
i was looking at the wikipedia article on elyse sewell, and it had a link to her livejournal.
so obviously, creep that i am, i started reading it. and found this funny bit:
Aun: "Well, the King was born on a Monday, so we wear yellow shirts every week to honor his birthday."
Me: "Hey, that's a pretty good idea. I'm going to start that trend up in America for the weekday of my birth. Get everybody to start wearing pink every Sunday."
Aun: "You were born on a Sunday? Then it would have to be red. A different color corresponds to every weekday: Red for Sunday. Yellow for Monday. Pink for Tuesday. Green for Wednesday. Orange for Thursday. Blue for Friday. Purple for Saturday."
Me: "Is that a Buddhist thing or a Thai thing?"
Aun: I guess it's Thai...wait...you don't have that in America?"
so i decided. since i was born on tuesday, you all should wear pink every tuesday. in honor of my birthday. it's DESTINY.
