here's how much money i found crossing mass ave:
one dollar bill. cha-ching!
so one time i was reading bbc news in 8.02 and came across the following sentence:
The five - a man in his 30s, his wife, two children and a family friend - are being questioned by military and intelligence officials, a defence ministry official said.
and i was like. wait. why is it a man and his wife? reverse it: think how weird 'a woman in her 30s, her husband, two children and a family friend' would sound. but it's acceptable to phrase the man as the focus of the group, with his wife as just a possession? how difficult would it be to call them 'a couple'? or 'married couple' even?
not that i think the phrasing of one sentence in one news article is having a profound oppressive effect on my life. i just think it's indicative of a larger paradigm. a larger paradigm that mostly sucks ass.
I still don't get the whole "women and children" thing. I just can't get incensed by it (any further than acceptable murder, torture, or whatever)!
I LIVE on Mass ave. holla.
ew old xanga link...bad memories :P
