from the wisdom of my nineteen years

some advice:

if you ever happen to find yourself walking through the halls of your educational institution to your friend's dormitory to celebrate the anniversary of his birth, and you see two huge bags of shredded paper sitting outside a door, you might think it would be amusing to take them and, after fighting your other friend with the bags à la pillows the whole way there, dump them on your friend's head with shouts of "birthday confetti!"

the shredded paper everywhere might even form the basis for most of the conversation that evening. and you might think it's pretty fucken hilarious.

but then, if your birthday is the next day, you might come back to your room to find a trail of paper that leads to the hugest pile of shredded paper evar on your bed. and you probably won't be able to do anything except laugh. because you know you deserve it.

so pass the shredded paper by, lest you find shreds of paper in your clothes, in your room, everywhere, for most likely the rest of your life.

do you know what is hilarious?

one time, after you saw a college drama production, and you and your friends were excitedly/obsessively telling each other everytime you ran into anyone who was in it, you described someone as having "gold hair" and then couldn't figure out why you said "gold" when she started to make fun of you for not using the word "blonde."

and then perhaps a week later your friend sees one of the kids in the laundry room, which sparks a facebook stalking frenzy. and you realise the blonde kid's screenname is "[firstname]goldenhaired."

and you laugh for eight hours.

do you know what else is classy?

you're walking down the infinite with your ipod, rocking out to le tigre's "hot topic." and as you hear "dorothy allison" in your head you read her name off a poster. and you're like "i was RIGHT!" because when you first saw that poster like a month ago you thought you could hear le tigre singing her name in your head, but weren't sure if you were just making it up.

and you almost gave dugan a pop quiz like: which poster's advertising someone mentioned in a le tigre song? but you didn't want him to pull out his ridiculous knowledge of all music evar and be like WHAT ARE YOU SAYING DUMBFACE?

CUNTCUNTCUNT!

There is not a word in the world I love more than CUNT.

Saw Vagina Monologues last night. Was, obviously, fabulous.

I basically climaxed eighty gajillion times in the 'reclaiming cunt' monologue. And now I miss my cunt background.

The weather is getting a little absurd up here. Yesterday afternoon was glorious squared. I'm pretty sure I was bouncing as I walked outside to class.

Went to Veggie Planet in Harvard Square with Jessica Alison. Oh my god, food. Life advice: always eat their peanut udon noodles. Never stop. Unless you are allergic to peanuts. Then you might want to be careful about that.

vegan in furs

one time i went to the mfa with jessica alison & kyrgyzstan, and after tripping up the stairs with my mustard-covered soft pretzel and looking at a bunch of fine art, we took the T home.

and i was bundled up in the coat my mommy bought me because she didn't want me to be cold in cambridge in the winter so she made sure i picked out a coat that covered my ass.

and there's faux fur on the hood. so.

lady gets on the T.
me: *smile*
her: *put all her bags down on the seat across from us*
me: *innocently riding the T*
her: *looks over* is that real fur?
me: *petrified* um, no.
her: have you heard of sir paul mccartney?
me: um, yes.
her: in china they kill cats and dogs for their fur. *pulls paper out of folder*
me: *politely reads*

so that was pretty much the most awkward thing that happened to me today.

we went to see the old law last night. a bexley kid composed some of the music for it, and it was pretty sweet stuff. and i fell in love with a flamboyant lithuanian actor.

there's no time i wish i had a megaphone more

than when the little prefrosh tour groups wander past my window. i wish i was technologically clever so i could rig up a loudspeaker.

lessee. two days ago watched a little documentary about the cuban five and heard noam speak. and father bottoms and some irish journalist. heart noam.

yesterday had a super awkward time in 9.00. but you know the spectrum of awkwardness and how eventually extreme awkwardness doubles back around to unawkward and merely hilarious? it was kind of like that.

and we took meara to pub night, which was a capital-e Experience.

w-w-w-weekend!

kiki is a beautiful person!

lauren & i created a kiki trivia game, jeopardy style, to play tonight. yeah, you know you wish you had friends like us.

first day of classes was surprisingly painless. woke up before my alarm went off, fuck yeah.

and i am about afinity times excited for 9.00. the professor's fun, and basically everyone and their mother is in that class. bexley + 41w + beta = r0x.

one time christinahahaha asked me

"Where the christ hell do you live?"

And I think this answers the question pretty thoroughly.

Today was Garment District Day. That place is basically the shit. Spent $4.50 on the dollar-a-pound floor for a potpourri of awesome. Featuring a pink cummerbund, a brightly-coloured children's sweater, and a ridiculous bright orange dress that is kind of like a dress Maria wears in The Sound of Music. And more, if you'll believe it. Including two sorts of vests. And the softest pink loafer slippers evar! Ohmagee, I'm a fashion icon.

And we made "be nice to kiki" shirts in preparation for Be Nice to Kiki Day: 7 February 2Oo6. We're thinking it might be a monthly holiday. Because we do mock him pretty relentlessly.

I didn't sleep on Friday. Well, I slept in the morning hours of Friday, but I never went to sleep on Friday night. Or Saturday morning. That was exciting.

Oh, and I bought a way overpriced pink rib cage tee at Newbury on Saturday. But it's okay because I feel like my Garment District purchase evened it out. And I saw Brian Vinikoor in Urban Outfitters. Talk about disconcerting.

Settlers of Catan isn't a bad game.
