you spin me right round

I officially have a real roommate now, and it's Lauren from WTP, which is pretty much awesome. AND I got to stay in my first floor corner room, which means no moving my stuff. Cha-ching!

The only possible drawback is I've been hearing all sorts of rumours about the upperclassman who shares our suite. "Tolerable at times," "uptight Christian," "elitist indie rocker." His blog is actually right here, but we haven't met him IRL yet. So I guess we'll see!

I know it'll be nothing like this when classes start, but for now I'm seriously having so much fun. Even when my friends tease me about my jangling room keys and the drunk bi girl who came on to me. I'm quite a hottie.

Last night I rode halfway across campus in a grocery cart, even up stairs through the Infinite Corridor. Except the ride kind of came to a bad end when Justen pushed the cart [with me still in it] onto the lawn directly in the path of the sprinklers. Yeah. My friends are kind of assholes, but it's okay, because I'm a bitch to them, too.

A favourite pastime is playing Lauren's salutatorian speech [which is on the Internet] really loud over my speakers. She HATES it. We're hoping to memorize her entire speech, or at least the principal's introduction, so we can quote it whenever we see her.

I finally got my schedule, which won't make much sense to non-MIT students.

It's basically chem, physics, and calc plus "riots, strikes, conspir: am hist" and my race, ethnicity, and gender seminar, which sounds like it will be a lot of free food and fun.

Yes, that's a fireplace. Lots of possibilities for painting that mofo. Also, there are three windows behind the camera, so the room is more gangster than it might look.
