Salutations from yr salutatorian!

Yeah, so tod. our beloved principal spoke to us about prom, commencement, senior pranks, senior exams & the like. He also announced valedictorian & salutatorian, and we voted for two other seniors to speak at graduation.

Did you know a salutatory is an opening or welcoming statement or address and a valedictory is a closing or farewell statement or address? I suppose I ought to have, thanks to Latin, but I guess I never really thought about it.

So, yeah, I get to make a speech. I was thinking along the lines of "peace out, homes." But that might not be sufficient.

I'm open to suggestions. If anyone would like to submit a speech, I will carefully peruse it & if they don't all suck, I will read the winning one & pretend it's mine. We could even pretend it's a competition. You love being competitive!

In other news, my "yes, I would like to attend yr fine institute of technology, Massachusetts" letter was mailed tod. I wanted to mail it on a significant day, because it feels important, but I couldn't think of any holidays before May 1 except this one. So I don't know what that says about my future at college.

Oh, yeah. Earth Day. April 22. OH WELL.
