1955 Steve Jobs is born.

1956 Judith Butler is born. "Gender is a kind of imitation for which there is no original."

1968 "Miss Bell, you have made the greatest astronomical discovery of the twentieth century." Observation of a Rapidly Pulsating Radio Source is published in Nature.

1970 National Public Radio is founded.

1999 Lauryn Hill becomes the first woman to win five Grammys in one night for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill (Beyoncé topped her this year with six).
