i can has birfday?

last saturday rian and i went to the harvard museum of natural history. we got in free (!) thanks to my harvard 'special borrower' library card.

some things we saw:
1 glass flowers
2 a 1,600 pound amethyst (omg my birthstone)
3 a triceratops skull
4 an entire exhibit dedicated to eggs
5 all sorts of taxidermied animals (which always creep me out)

wednesday night one of my classes (9.68: feelings) went to the mfa on a field trip.

things i love:
1 art

i took a bunch of pictures because we were supposed to pick one or two pieces that we thought represented "quality," but flash is verboten so all the paintings turned out blurry.

rodin's psyche turned out okay, though:

thanks to craiglist, this week tyler and i took the orange line to the last stop to pick up our new cat.

after some debate (notorious b.i.g., samuel l. catson, princess snaggletooth, colonel mustard, batman, sailor moon), we decided to name him andré.

he is practically perfect in every way. (we should have named him mary poppins.)

i'm taking statistics at harvard, so i had to start class a week before my mit friends.

here are some things that happened when i went to class yesterday.

1 some girl dropped her scarf without noticing and i picked it up and gave it back to her
2 another girl went to pick up the scarf at the same time, so even if i hadn't been there the first girl would still have got her scarf back
3 i dropped a dollar in au bon pain without realizing and some girl pointed it out to me
4 i asked this guy working at a newstand where i could buy flowers and he gave me perfect directions

mit classes start next tuesday. omg school!
