November 2006 Archives

i almost bought a glittery gold fannypack from victoria's secret. but it was over a hundred dollars, so i didn't.

sometimes i stare in the mirror for ten minutes concentrating very hard on not picking up a pair of scissors and cutting off all my hair.

when things i'm learning in one class connect to another class.

for example, i'm reading pathologies of power for gender, power, and international development [it's pretty depressing/makes me want to go overseas and help poor people after graduation]. some of the things it discusses are AIDS & HIV and various treatments and i was like ohh we just talked about this in bio lecture today. and then there are parts, like groupism, that connect to the sociobiology we're reading about in animal behavior now.

it's like i am getting a holistic education or something.

i still wish i was enrolled in dinosaurs, though.

home is weird.

everything is so familiar, but in the three months you've been gone, little things have managed to grow a bit off. like the dining room table might be in a different place with a different tablecloth.

and then there's the constant conflict between spending time with your family whom you never see anymore and your friends from home whom you never see anymore. complications!

and then there's the friend whom you're so excited to see who says I BURNED YOU THIS CD A WHILE AGO AND FORGOT TO SEND IT. so she finds a blank cd and burns it again from her laptop. and she gives it to you and you read THE BLOW - PAPER TELEVISION and shriek I LOVE THIS ALBUM! and laugh at life.

and now you are back at school and don't know what to do for the next two days. except work, i guess. or nothing.

so i went to bed at 1:30 in the morning on tuesday night [wednesday morning] because i can't resist the charms of a certain someone. and then my alarm woke me approximately three hours later.

called a cab, went to the airport, was through security by 5:40 for my 7:00 flight. got resentful just thinking about the extra half hour or more i could have spent in a warm bed.

slept on the plane. got home. went to the dentist. was lectured about my lip piercing.

ate lunch. went to the office of the guy who will at some point take my wisdom teeth out.

came home. tried to watch happenstance with mutti. fell asleep.

went out with allison berry. <3

saw stranger than fiction with kt, m, & r. "your teeth are so white." fell asleep.

and all this time i am peeing like every hour. because i might have a uti.

life life life.

MOOD SWINGS. yessssssss!

also MAKING MESSES.

but that is also kind of the theme of my life.

EVENTS THIS WEEKEND:
i broke out my TEN COAT as the temperature dipped into the 40s.
i cried a lot. i watched an hour of sylvia and then quit.
i began to lose my voice. clicky said i sound like a man.

going home this week! :O

and i ril want to watch WE'RE BACK! A DINOSAUR'S STORY. so if you could arrange that, kthx.

1 stepped in a lot of puddles because i wasn't looking where i was going
2 bought too much ice cream and then ate myself sick and then still ended up throwing half of it away and felt guilty about wasting food and annoyed at spending an extra dollar but also kind of felt like FUCK IT
3 looked at some thins
4 read some thins
5 bought some thins
6 was referred to by every stranger who spoke to me on the street as PINKY [e.g.: "hey pinky where are you going?"]

my hass class (gender, power, & international development) is cancelled this afternoon. and i could easily skip bio recitation since we're currently learning neurobiology. i.e., HERE IS A NEURON. LOLOLOL am i rite.

so as soon as i finish working besk (noon), i am free free free as a bird.

especially since i have no work for tomorrow, as we are watching a movie about CATS in animal behavior. not the musical. the animals.

BUT it is raining. and i don't know what i want to do with my day.

ideally, explore somewhere. or maybe go shopping.

perhaps it'll stop raining. or i could just take the t to harvard square or something.

WHO KNOWS.

1 going gay clubbin
2 eatin ice cream cake
3 writin a paper about tanzania
4 watchin a movie about electric cars
5 playin mario party 5
6 livin my life

and blood came out.

WEIRD.

happy great october socialist revolution day!

since feeling is first
who pays any attention
to the syntax of things
will never wholly kiss you;

wholly to be a fool
while Spring is in the world

my blood approves,
and kisses are a far better fate
than wisdom
lady i swear by all flowers. Don't cry
--the best gesture of my brain is less than
your eyelids' flutter which says

we are for eachother: then
laugh, leaning back in my arms
for life's not a paragraph

And death i think is no parenthesis

i like it when my boyfriend surprises me with flowers after class.

also, i want to marry vespa:

i get in line & hear, "oh, kat!" and there is a little bognet standing next to me.

some woman complains to me about the brown avocado in the old overpriced laverdes sushi.

clicky is always standing in line for a sandwich.

rian pretends not to know me and we have an impersonal chat.

i buy a disgusting thing of soy noodles that taste like cardboard.
