March 2006 Archives

went home. was fun.

johnny depp got syphilis. :(

saw wickeddd.

am back. no one's here.

well, people are here. but it feels so empty. the empty.

kyrstin folded my laundry!

james dylan met me at the airport.

i suck at hearts.

the squid

& the

whale.

these make me laugh. thx, abbey.

i have a lot of feelings.

and my shoes don't match.

you own a hoodie for months and wear it pretty much constantly because you adore it. and suddenly one day you're wearing it and 50 million people are like oh em gee, i looooove it.

oh-kay. you've probably seen me wear this before. but thx.

pop quiz. who saw the arctic monkeys last night?

me!

umm, imma be in 'bington from sunday evening to thursday morning.

so if you are also going to be, which is unlikely, since no one in the entire world shares my spring break. . . play with me?

'kay thanks. :-*

sometimes they write kind things about me.

& sometimes they send me 'vaginas are for lovers' t-shirts.

& sometimes they think i'm funny.

okay, i have to go do work now. bye!

one dollar bill. cha-ching!

so one time i was reading bbc news in 8.02 and came across the following sentence:

The five - a man in his 30s, his wife, two children and a family friend - are being questioned by military and intelligence officials, a defence ministry official said.

and i was like. wait. why is it a man and his wife? reverse it: think how weird 'a woman in her 30s, her husband, two children and a family friend' would sound. but it's acceptable to phrase the man as the focus of the group, with his wife as just a possession? how difficult would it be to call them 'a couple'? or 'married couple' even?

not that i think the phrasing of one sentence in one news article is having a profound oppressive effect on my life. i just think it's indicative of a larger paradigm. a larger paradigm that mostly sucks ass.

i fell asleep during a symphony orchestra concert last night. well, i don't remember falling asleep. but kyrstin told me i did. and also a lot more time passed than it seemed like.

happy st patrick's day plus one?

so i like the people here. generally.

and by the people here, i mean the people who live in the same place as me and go to the same parties here. that 'and' is kind of an 'and/or,' i guess. don't get confused.

i also like music.

i've actually been a good student this week.

reading textbooks and taking notes and studyyyying nonstop.

when i talk to my brother on teh internets, i miss him. :'(

like a lot a lot a lot.

you can tell because i blog about her.

meara meara meara jesus meara.

i was an extra in a video that was on the internet.

and one time last night i watched a vietnamese film.

and one time in the lounge i finally got to watch the emperor's new groove [which i hadn't seen in ages and everytime i suggested it everyone else was like NO ANIMATED MOVIES ARE YOU FIVE YEARS OLD?!].

the cute guy in line behind me at laverde*s asks if i used to have bright pink hair.

here's what i hate:
feeling like i'm prepared for what should have been an easy test and then realizing i have no idea what i'm doing.

because allison molloy told me she'd love me forever if i went back to brown. and i'm kind of her lackey.

if you like good music [or if you like jokes] you should listen to my friends' radio show.

because it's quality stuff. and all i do is laugh when i listen to it, even though i pretend i can work on psets at the same time. except it may not be that hilarious if you don't know dugan & brian. so don't get too excited? but maybe, i don't know.

BE NICE. day!

what i like most about cliff is that he's tall, dark, and hansom. and brzilian 4 eva.

here is a fun trick you should try sometime: laughing.

it makes the work of the upcoming week seem less menacing.

some combinations that work: kyrstin & culvert. (menstrual grizzly puss)
jessica & teh hawaiian. (hobo or homo? no, purple.)
clacki & katharine. (brazilians are like gold)

if you want to do it on your own, the internet can be useful.

the "z" is for "zealousness," 'cause Jesus wants us to be hot for Him, not lukewarm.

i really don't have much to say. but i haven't posted in a while, so i'll try to come up with something.

yesterday i watched people make latkes. and mixed a cookie.

the night afore, i watched 33 minutes of the first episode of veronica mars. and 87 minutes of yasmin. and too much of kill bill: vol 2. which still wasn't very much.

and i was getting a lot of spammy comments, so i turned off "everyone can post." and now you have to register. which takes like five seconds. and i don't like it, but i don't like deleting a gajillion "online-poker-free-dot-com" comments every five seconds more.

the end.

belle & sebastian and new pornographers = love.

i ate a grape. and anjuli got a drumstick. like for playing drums, not the lower part of the leg of a cooked fowl.
