December 2004 Archives

One to go.

Wedding photos by him, as I'm sure you can tell by the watermark. Really sweet guy, too. Pointed me in the direction of GIMP, which is totally freaking awesome.

Otherwise haven't been up to much. Attempting to make room more presentable for new year. Watching LOTR extended editions back to back. Rereading OotP. Playing SimFarm [you wouldn't think so, but it's such a good game!]. Watching season 3 of Buffy from Netflix. Finishing college applications.

Sorrz for teh brief, infrequent, impersonal blog entries. Perhaps next year I'll make an effort to be more entertaining.

I hate the cold, but I love snow.

Too bad tod. was about a million degrees cold with a negative million windchill and only one-millionth of a millimetre of snow.

Plz, winter, stop. [Yes, I know, the solstice isn't until tom. Ecks pee!]

This wknd:

F: KT, M, R. Chinese restaurant. Icky-smelling hot & sour soup. Kaboom jawbreakers. Geeks & Gawds. Magenta leg/arm warmers. Retro pink earrings.

Sa: Vati, sister. Thrift store. Austin Powers: Spy Who Shagged Me soundtrack. Pink overalls w. mini-skirt instead of trousers as bottoms, so not really overalls but w. overall-type strappy things. Stretchy pink snap-up blouse.

Mater, sister, brother. ASoUE: the movie. Obv. not as fab. as books, but not complete shite, either. Jude Law = stroke of brilliance. Jim Carrey better than expctd.

Su: Krista, Megan, Becky. German project. Me = Martin Luther = brown blanket as monk!robes = q. embarrassing. But we will receive an A, so whatevz.

Mater, sister. Aunt's bridal shower. Yummy food. T minus six days to wedding.

M: Not sure why even bother with school anymore. C'est le ick. Except spying on boys is sometimes fun. Esp. when they're pretty.

Borrowed some books from the school library. Including a book about a girl named Kate who only applies to MIT & then doesn't get in. Cool, huh? [She's an atheist, too!]

The best part is that the librarian who does Reading Olympics recommended it to me before I was accepted. I think if I had read it before Dec. 13, I would have been q. freaked out.

Three more days and then a whole week of freedom. Oh, the superintendent does spoil us high school students so. Imagine, an entire week between Xmas & New Year's. The generosity will go to our heads, no doubt. We'll start getting thoughts above our station & next thing you know, demand a week off for spring break as well.

Uno. Praise Jesus for inventing TI-89s in his infinite wisdom. Because if I didnae have one, I prolly would have to work harder, study more, and pay attention in class to get 40/40 on calculus tests.

Dos. I want to be the Ipod girl when I grow up.

Tres. MIT sent me a holiday card that is a little snowflake and says NO TWO ALIKE.

Catorce. In the words of her: "did they have to make Johnny Depp ugly>?"

Things I want

  • a pink ipod mini [& how cute are the engravings?]
  • my digital camera to be repaired
  • airport thingummy so my ibook can have wireless internet
  • cute, terminally hip clothing
  • adorable mushycat tees [fuchsia/black, pink/fuchsia. . . atheist tee = teh purchased]
  • atomic pink hairdye
  • cute shoes
  • tolly punk rock accessories [or not]
  • assorted music
  • world peace

    Things I don't want

  • to do physics homework
  • to read the two gov chapters
  • to write my am. studz. thesis
  • to study for the calc test
  • to attend high school any longer

  • I. Stayed home from school tod. because general throat/nasal/sinus area feels like shite. Ick.

II. Read The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. V.g. Thought of these two while I was reading, but not in an OMG SPECIAL NEEDS sort of way. Esp. as neither are autistic. Anyway, it's a good book. Read it.

III. Got into RPI. Not a surprise, nor particularly exciting, but it's a college. & they would give me money. So that's an option.

IV. Filled out common app. "Receipt of the Common Application and Harvard Application Supplement by . . . December 15th for Regular Action would be helpful."

    V. t minus two days until ASoUE teh movie.

Tod. is my brother's birthday! :D

Remember when MIT offered me admission to the class of 2009?

    Me too. xDDDDDDDDD

and says "Why do I hurt the ones I love slowly by drinking my life away?" He begins to cry.

    Anti-jokes make my abs hurt.

"But at least you're good at it." ~Ashley Waters to me. I just thought I'd share that quote in honor of the time I blogged that she called me a slut for wearing my pink boots and then she found my blog three years later and thought I was really offended. It was cute.

Despite December 8 being Dom's twenty-eighth birthday, it was not as splendid as one might expect. I missed the first half of Lost due to circumstances quite beyond my control and then, in the part I did watch, they nearly killed him off!

Jack & Kate: *run the hidden pinetrails of the forest*
Dom: *hangs from tree, all lynched & blindfolded*
Jack: OMGDOM! *tries to hold him up so he isn't strangled*
Kate: OMGDOM! *climbs tree like stupid slutwhore she is and does a poor, but suspenseful job of leaning over and cutting Dom down*
Dom: *falls to the ground in deceased sort of manner*
Me: *anger* If he is dead, I will never watch this show ever again.
Jack: *makes out with . . . I mean, performs CPR on Dom*
    Kate: *sobs hysterically*
Jack: *gets angry that Dom isn't putting tongue in, starts punching him in the chest*
    Kate: OMG STOP HE'S DEAD!
    Jack: *continues punching*
    Dom: *opens eyes*
    Me: *begins to breathe again*

Yesterd. was the dodgeball tournament. Spectating = good times. Especially because the boys swim team played dodgeball in their speedos. Can we say total hottiez? Too bad the boys soccer team's uniform doesn't involve speedos. Favourite. athletic. body-build. evar!

So how glad am I that tod.'s Friday? This week was pretty intense. Mostly last night. Mostly because I hate school.

In American Studies we're on the 1920s, so we've been discussing the Red Scare lately. Which, may I add, is the most ridiculous thing ever & has resulted in various drawings of angry commies smashing the liberty bell & similar on my notes.

In that vein, I'd like to dedicate this link to my American Studies teacher, because he has such an appreciation for those godless pinkos. My favourite is: the Earth is perfect for us, so God must have made it.

PS: Chris from Halifax is a hottie. & Elisa Mosley has good taste in boys.

    Best picture of Elleh evar.

Talking of best pictures evar, the one on the right features my raccoon!face. >D Sienna was over tod. and I stole all the pictures on her camphone via the wonders of Bluetooth.

And while we're on the topic of pictures, how adorable is eighteen-year-old!Dom? Hetty Wainthropp DVD + iBook = obsessive amount of screencaps.

And even though Sienna is a fascist censoring xanga!Nazi, I'm allotting her this space for a personal message:

Just so you all know, Kate laughs like a raccoon. I would take this time to stage a mutiny and erase everything that she has written thus far but, alas, I'm not THAT mean. Oh yes, and she likes x-mas balls. I now leave the mutiny up to you....and I better see you all at Wendy's. CIAO!

I've succumbed to the siren song of AIM and finally downloaded it to my iBook.

    sn: revolution plz

I hate how every screenname evar is already taken. But whatevz. People like me with fifteen or so who can remember the passwords to about two are part of the problem. Plus the overpopulation of the world. And the Westernization of third world countries.

Yeah, so. IM me sometime. & I'm trying the MyMobile crap so when I'm offline you should be able to txt my cell. How exciting is that?

PS: Yeah, as you, you, you, & you may have noticed, I was testing to see if I remembered the password for almedastar and kind of got caught up in quite a few conversations. So may be on that screenname sometimes too.

Lost was as brilliant as evar last week. V. creepy, though. & q. mysterious. Am ever so eager to see what happens with the demon baby or whatever.

Hetty Wainthropp Investigates is the cutest thing evar! Dom is all of eighteen years old and he's so young and adorable! He shoplifts and works at a grocery market. Je l'aime.

    Friday e'ening I travelled to Ursinus College for a performance of Handel's Messiah. Was fun. V. g. music. Felt anachronistic. The one cellist was really hot à la Billy Boyd, also. ^^;

Yesterday went shopping with brother for birthday/Xmas sleeping bag at REI. As he is now a boy scout, he needs these outdoorsy, camping things. I got a little sporty pink yoga!cami marked down from $35 to $9.83 in the clearance section. Perhaps will induce more athleticism on my part. . . . no, not likely.

Ate at Golden Dragon afterward. "A golden egg of opportunity falls into your lap this month." It inspired me to add 'golden egg' to my vocabulary. "Oh, look at that SUV in the parking lot! A golden egg of pollution!"

I finally took apart my pre-laptop computer setup. Removing the enormous monitor freed up a lot of space on my desk. Better feng shui, too, I'm sure. Am working on cleaning the rest of my room, but there's a long way to go.

Can I go to college now?

Welcome to December! In one month, it'll be 2005. The year I graduate from high school and begin college. :O Exciting stuff.

We're reading A Doll's House in English class [as I complained about earlier] and I got to read Nora tod. 'twas fun. I like to talk. There were some parts that made me kind of uncomfortable, though.

"I would play the fairy and dance for you in the moonlight, Torvald."

I mean, it's high school. But my peers showed remarkable restraint and refrained from guffawing.

Gym class was sad and lonely due to Melissa's field trip and Lin's eye injury.

The senior superlative forms were handed out tod. Excitement!
