Last night I finished The Grim Grotto. Carnt bleef it's book eleven! Only two more, sniff. How I adore those Baudelaire orphans. And that sexy Esmé Squalor.
Ooh, that reminds me. In German class we had to list our influences in such categories as "fashion," "politics," and "movies," and I failed miserably. So my goal is to start keeping a list of these things, so I can rattle them off should anyone ask.
Fashion
Today I represented and wore my homemade [read: black sharpie on clear tape] tee with "pre-emptive strike for peace" on the front and "codepinkalert.org" on the reverse. On a related note, I'm succeeding in creating the illusion that I only own pink clothes. Even my teachers have noticed. Though what is the proper etiquette for when one's physics instructor asks if one has a closet full of pink? Am still working on that. There has to be something snappier than "um, no, I have other colours too."
Most commonly asked question [after "are you going to redye your hair?"]: "is pink your favourite colour?" to which I usually reply "NO, IT'S GREEN!" and storm angrily away. Though not so much the latter.
Wearing all this pink is excellent prep for a punchline, but I haven't figured out what it ought to be yet. Perhaps I'll go to school in all black one day and everyone will be aghast. Muaha. Muaha. Or perhaps I'll just bide my time. *shifty eyes*
Art club after school. We're making bowls for the Empty Bowl Benefit. The theme is nature, so I'm making a turtle shell with a little turtle head, tail, and legs. Turtle soup!
School is being kind of icky [79 on gov test: WTF]. I suspect I have a mad case of early onset senioritis. However, scholarly accomplishments in the past seem to be good enough for now. Was announced as National Merit semifinalist this afternoon, which is cool, and I was picked as one of four seniors to participate in this Delaware Valley Science Council thing, also cool.
And it's raining like a mother. Those crazy hurricanes. That crazy global warming. [Or are the hurricanes perhaps a manifestation of divine punishment?]
I know what you mean-- last year, teachers (my German teacher in particular) kept commenting on my pink & purple wardrobe. It was amusing in a way, though it got old after a while.
TimE and I were discussing your pink wardrobe in consternation and distress in the front row. We concluded that you can't keep it up much longer. And I think we're right, bucko. Esmé Squalor :)
oh yeah Will Bruce?? well i will support kate's pink wardrobe by buying pink clothes for her when i'm out thrifting (sorry love, but you know department store prices these days). or i will knit her pink things like hats, scarves, mittens, and/or ear warmers.

I can't help it. It's not my fault I so good with computers *snicker*. I can't think of anyone who influences my fashion, I sort of buy what I like. Hmm. I also doubt I could wear all one color. I have a lot of blue, but I'd miss all the other colors. I didn't fail the gov test! Well, not by normal people's standards anyway.
